Billing & usage
The plans, free trial, Murmurator AI usage billing, spend limits, failed payments and paused automation.
Murmurator has flat monthly plans per account, plus optional pay-as-you-go usage for Murmurator AI models. Owners manage billing under Billing; everyone in the account can see its status.
Plans
Every plan includes unlimited workflows, runs, steps and teammates, and all 70+ connections. No integration is ever restricted by plan. What differs between them is capacity:

- Runs at once is how many of the account's runs execute side by side. Runs over the limit wait in line and start as slots free up — no trigger is dropped and no run fails because of it.
- Run history is how long finished runs and their step logs are kept. Older ones are pruned nightly; runs still in flight are never touched.
- Workspace hours meter the sandboxes the coding agent works in, counted from when each is created until it is torn down, and reset on the 1st of each month (UTC). A workspace already open is never interrupted; the next one is refused with a message saying so.
Billing shows what the account has used of each. Enterprise is arranged by contact rather than checkout.
Free trial
New accounts get a free trial with no card required, running on the Scale plan's limits so you meet the product at full capacity. It includes free Murmurator AI credit, so built-in models work right away. The app shows how many trial days are left.
Subscribe any time from Billing → Subscribe. If there are more than two days of trial left, they carry over and billing starts when the trial ends.
The subscription
Payment is handled by Stripe: Subscribe opens Stripe's secure checkout for the plan you picked, and Manage billing & change plan opens Stripe's customer portal to switch plan, update your card, download invoices or cancel. A plan changed in the portal takes effect in the app as soon as Stripe confirms it.
Cancelling takes effect at the end of the current billing period; the app shows the date until then.
Murmurator AI usage
When workflow steps use Murmurator AI models, their tokens are billed at the published rates on the same monthly invoice, after the month's usage. Nothing is billed for steps that use your own provider keys, or for the workflow assistant.
AI models → Usage & limits shows:
- this month's spend against the account's limit,
- a breakdown by model with tokens and cost,
- every recent call, linked to the run that made it.
Spend limit
Each account has a monthly Murmurator AI spend limit — $100 by default. Owners can raise or lower it on the usage page at any time. Once the month's usage reaches the limit, steps that use Murmurator AI fail with a message saying so, and other steps keep working. The limit resets on the 1st of each month (UTC).
During the trial, usage draws down the free credit instead. When the credit is used up, subscribe to keep using Murmurator AI, or switch steps to your own models.
Failed payments and pausing
If a payment fails, Stripe retries the card automatically and Murmurator shows a banner asking owners to update their payment method. Everything keeps working for a 7-day grace period.
If the grace period ends, the trial ends without a subscription, or the subscription is cancelled, automation pauses:
- triggers stop firing and new runs can't start (webhooks receive
402); - the assistant stops replying;
- runs already in progress finish;
- everyone can still sign in and see every workflow, run and setting — nothing is deleted.
Subscribing, or updating the card, resumes everything immediately.
